Message from the president and CEO

25, we will mark our 70th anniversary at AERO ASAHI CORPORATION.
We express our deepest gratitude to our beloved customers, business partners, shareholders, predecessors, employees, and stakeholders for their continued support and effort.

From the dawn of the post-war period, we have been supporting the development of national land and social infrastructures through our industrial aviation and surveying services.
It wasn’t always easy, but our corporate philosophy of “To the Sky, For the Future” and Our safety instructions "Doing what we should do and not doing what we should not do” have always guided us on the right path in the face of each hardship.
In celebration of our 70th anniversary, our company will be renamed to AERO TOYOTA CORPORATION, effective from July 2025.
Bearing our corporate philosophy and code of safety, we are determined to support Toyota soar through the future as “one of its wings” to realize Mobility for ALL.

The journey of our company started in 1955 with our two founders, Hitoshi Imai and Minoru Tamaki.
After overcoming the hardships of its early days, we provided helicopter transportation services for the transportation of construction materials to build Kurobe Dam 4 in 1957. In 1960, we started aerial photogrammetry that was essential to the development of national land infrastructure.
In 1964, we succeeded in the air transportation and installation of the Mt. Fuji Radar Dome.
We began operations of aero aviation business and spatial information business as individual companies, but merged these as one company, AERO ASAHI, in 1982. Since then, we have engaged in providing services for the development and maintenance of technological infrastructures and business, such as engineering survey for the construction of the Seikan Tunnel in 1983.

Meanwhile, Toyota Motor Corporation, led by its founder Kiichiro Toyoda who later resigned in response to post-war management crisis, had immediately embarked on airplane research since its foundation.
Both AERO ASAHI and Toyota Motor continued on their own path until AERO ASAHI was incorporated into Toyota Motor in 1997.
Until now, AERO ASAHI had functioned as a subsidiary of Toyota Motor, but we have now come to a new transition phase as Toyota Motor’s challenges and its long-held passion for the sky has led to its significant investment in Joby Aviation and their electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft technology, which is often referred to as a revolution in the skies

Industrial aviation and aerial surveying has somewhat matured, but we are now facing the drastic changes in industry framework and its game players, such as the rise of unmanned aircraft operations in competition with manned aircraft,
the dramatic evolution of satellite imaging technology, the emergence of the "flying car" called as the revolution in the skies, and the development of new technologies that combine our accumulated surveying and spatial information technologies with our MAAS/CONNECTED technologies.

We do not see these drastic changes as headwinds. Rather, we recognize them as tailwinds that enable us to flexibly change our business model to survive.
Over recent years, we have carefully reviewed our business in terms of where we should “defend”, “stop”, and “change.”

We have determined our strengths and weaknesses by product and domain, have considered and verified which brands we should hold firm on, which brands we need to further cultivate, and where we need to allocate our valuable business resources.
As a result, we have come to conclusion that we shall contribute to society by offering our geospatial information and air mobility services as products, engage in all challenges with integrity and sincerity, regardless of the situation we are under, and foster the growth and development of our employees to autonomously embody our principles of reliability, safety, and high quality to strengthen the foundations of our company value and brand.

AERO TOYOTA is determined in making unceasing effort to overcome new challenges and thrive as a company where our employees could feel proud and find rewarding to work at.

We will continue to share our assets and partner with Toyota across various fields, and endeavor to be a company of our customers’ choice.

We hope that you will continue to support and guide us as we begin this new chapter in our journey.
